Gigabyte GPT Issue
I've been talking with Gigabyte and they've made a custom BIOS update to fix the GPT freezing :) It will possibly come out as an official update at some point but I will consider mirroring it if they don't.

Gigabyte + USB + GPT = ?
Figured out why my external drives were causing the computer to freeze during boot, it seems the Gigabyte motherboard (latest BIOS still affected) doesn't like having GPT. If you want the drive to be plugged in during boot you will need to have it formatted with a MBR.

New Computer!
Finally got around to buying/building a new desktop today, it feels good being able to run games at max settings, still waiting on the DVD drive and wireless network card which wont arrive till monday.
Intel i5 - 750
Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4
4GB SuperTalent Performance Series DDR3-1600
HIS ATI HD5750 IceQ+
Lian-Li Dragonlord PC-K62B
Corsair HX650
I've only come across one problem so far where the Gigabyte motherboard will freeze during POST if I leave my USB HDD plugged in, still looking for a solution to that but I will most likely end up taking it out of the enclosure and making it a internal drive.
